3 link set up

My brother and I wanted to try playing DOTA against each other here at home using our laptops but we didnt establish a connection. Weve tried using cross over cables, router etc and still we werent able to play. Pls teach me how to set up things.

for optimum game play you really want to hook them up with either a cross-over cable or through a switch (or hub). make sure that both systems are on the same network if using a cross-over you don't need a default gateway address just give one system the IP address of 192.168.1.1 and a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and make the other 192.168.1.2 with the same subnet. go to the command prompt and verify connectivity by ping. most likely one system will have to be the server and the other will log onto it to establish game play.

ive got a "3g datamodem" broadband connection thats a HSDPA USB modem.no idea how to link it up to my playstation...is it possible to plug it into the playstations USB port?

You could route it through your PC or laptop by connecting the ethernet to the pc and running network setup on the pc then on the ps3 run setup for a wired connection...

I have 3 ethernet cords a linksys router, and 2 xbox 360 consoles, and 2 copies of Saints Row 2. I'm trying to play with my brother. So how exactly would I set up system link??? I did all that? but is their anything else to do with the router? Trying to play Saints Row 2. Can you explain any further?

plug both xboxes into the router, reset the router, start the game on both consoles. you should probably be able to handle the rest, if not, add it in the details ADD: nope, just make sure everything is plugged in, reset the router and you're good to go
